Plafon Sigma Sfera 50 cm black copper 32469

Sigma Sfera 50 black and copper flush ceiling light 32469

The 50 cm version brings Sfera’s recognisable dome into a more compact footprint. Its opening runs on a diagonal, causing the profile to change as you move around it. One viewpoint exposes much of the copper-coloured interior, while another is dominated by the calm black outer shell. The inner face is densely and irregularly textured rather than smooth, giving light many small surfaces to pick out. This scale can establish a focal point above a round table, within a seating area or in a room where the 70 and 90 cm members of the family would project too far.

Selecting an E27 lamp

Sfera 50 takes one replaceable E27 LED lamp with a maximum rating of 15 W. It is supplied without a bulb, allowing output and colour temperature to be chosen for the space. Remember, however, that there is a single point of light. The open bowl has no complete diffuser: illumination travels below the fitting and across the copper background. When choosing a bulb, consider its lumen figure and physical dimensions as well as wattage, ensuring it suits both the intended brightness and the room available inside the shade.

The ceiling plate needs secure anchors chosen for the supporting substrate. The shade is fixed once installed, so decide on its orientation while mounting it. Keep the circuit isolated throughout the electrical work; assistance from a second person will make lifting and securing the fitting easier.
