s.luce Velo is a ceiling light with a clear mouth-blown glass shade and a black metal mount. Vertical grooves draw the eye along its elongated cylindrical shape. The glass leaves the bulb and socket components visible, making the appearance of the light source part of the complete arrangement.
Elongated glass beneath the ceiling
The fitting measures 18 cm in diameter and 36 cm in height. It mounts directly to the ceiling, with the glass body extending down beneath the black base. These proportions give a single light point a distinct vertical direction where the fitting is intended to be a visible part of the interior.
The open bottom allows light to pass directly downwards. The manufacturer identifies living rooms, dining areas, hallways and bedrooms as uses for Velo. One fitting can be used individually, or several separate ceiling lights can be positioned at chosen points around a room. The vertical grooves and rounded glass edges remain decorative details when the light is switched off.
One replaceable E27 bulb
One E27 bulb rated at a maximum of 40 W is required and is not included. Its brightness and light colour can be chosen for the room and the other lighting. Since the source is visible through the clear glass, the bulb shape and the appearance of its interior also matter. The manufacturer includes decorative bulbs with visible filaments among the possible choices.
Dimming requires a dimmable bulb and a compatible dimmer. The bulb is replaceable, allowing its characteristics to be changed later without replacing the ceiling light. A black base measuring 18 cm across and 3.5 cm high completes the fitting at the ceiling. The simple mount and single glass shade suit modern, minimalist interiors. The fitting operates at 230 V and is protection class I, requiring a protective earth connection.
