The Zuma Line OMI 1198 is a ceiling light in which five opal glass shades spread out on black metal arms around a short central column. The shades have a soft, flattened profile and turn into five evenly glowing orbs once lit — no hot spots, no hard shadows thrown across the ceiling.
A sculptural shape instead of a flat flush fitting
Rather than a single disc pressed against the ceiling, OMI builds outwards: four arms arranged in a cross plus one shade below the centre of the frame. At 69 × 69 cm across and 46 cm deep it fills the space above a table or sofa much like a chandelier, yet it mounts straight onto the ceiling with no suspension cables. That makes it a sensible choice for rooms of ordinary height, where a hanging fixture would sit too low.
Black metal, white glass
The frame is black throughout — matt column, arms and the rings that hold the shades. The glass is white opal, so the contrast reads even when the light is off: switched off, the fitting works as a graphic object rather than a lamp. The pairing suits modern, industrial and Scandinavian interiors, and the black metal is easy to tie in with window frames, cabinet handles or chair legs.
Five G9 sources — the light is your choice
The fitting runs five G9 sockets on 230 V mains power. The manufacturer states a maximum of 5 W per source and specifies LED bulbs. Bulbs are not supplied, which in practice is an advantage: you pick the colour temperature and output yourself. Warm white around 2700 K keeps a living room cosy, while neutral 4000 K works better over a dining table or in a study.
