Argon FABIO 8455 wall and ceiling light, chocolate brown, marbled glass, E14 IP44

Argon FABIO 8455 is a compact wall and ceiling light with a white-and-brown marbled glass globe. Its chocolate-brown base is made from painted steel and identifies this particular finish within the FABIO family. The marble effect is a pattern in the glass, not an indication that the shade is made from stone.

Two mounting orientations

The manufacturer explicitly permits installation on either a wall or a ceiling. You can therefore choose the orientation to suit the electrical connection: on a wall the globe projects in front of the surface, while on a ceiling it sits below the circular base. This is a surface-mounted fitting, rather than a pendant suspended on a cable or a spotlight with an adjustable arm.

The catalogue dimensions are 160 × 120 × 120 mm. The technical drawing shows a globe diameter of 120 mm and an overall measurement of 160 mm along the base-and-shade axis. Compare the complete outline with the available space, not just the diameter of the glass. For wall installation, that also means allowing for the fitting's projection into the room.

Choose the bulb separately

The single E14 socket takes an LED bulb rated at no more than 7 W, with a 230 V supply. A bulb is not included. Its specification will determine the light colour and output; the brown veining describes the shade's decoration, not the colour temperature. Check the bulb's physical dimensions against the enclosed shade before purchasing it as well.

Dimming requires a dimmable E14 LED bulb and a compatible dimmer; the fitting has no built-in dimmer.

A patterned globe for interior lighting

The simple circle-and-sphere construction suits modern and modernist interiors, with the glass pattern adding detail without an extended frame. It can provide supplementary lighting in living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms and corridors, including hotel and restaurant interiors. IP44 protection and the manufacturer's bathroom positioning also support considering it for a bathroom. The installation location must still follow the relevant bathroom zones and instructions: IP44 does not allow unrestricted placement beside water.
