The CORNELLA LE61494 is a plaster wall light shaped as a shallow bowl open at the top. The body is white and matt, with no shade and no visible fittings — the material is both housing and finish. It measures 16 cm wide, 6 cm high and stands 8 cm off the wall.

How it lights and where to hang it

The bowl is open at the top, so the light goes towards the wall and ceiling rather than into the eye. This is indirect lighting: you see the brightened surface above the fitting, not the source. How it looks depends on the space above it — the closer to the ceiling, the narrower and brighter the patch.

A projection of 8 cm is little for a wall light, so it does not get in the way in a narrow passage or beside a bed. At 16 cm wide it is an accent on the wall rather than something that divides it — two or three in a row give continuous light along a hallway.

How much light it gives

The maker states a built-in LED module of 4 W and 416 lm. An old 60 W bulb gave around 800 lm, so CORNELLA gives roughly half — and because it lights indirectly, less again comes back into the room. This is supplementary, atmospheric light, not a replacement for a ceiling fitting.

3000 K is warm white, which reads as creamy on white render rather than clinical. The light source is included and permanently built in — the fitting has no thread, so no bulb is bought or changed by hand.

Material and mounting

The body is cast in plaster, giving a matt, slightly porous surface and sharply cut bowl edges — a different feel from lacquered metal. Plaster is brittle, so the fitting is carried by the body rather than the edge.

The wall light runs on 230 V and is wired permanently into the installation, with no plug or inline switch. Its IP20 rating confines it to dry rooms — not the shower zone of a bathroom, and not outdoors.

Which interior it suits

The plain geometric bowl and the uniform white make a modern form that does not compete with the rest of the wall. A fitting like this works in a living room as evening light, above a bed, in an entrance hall and along a corridor, where indirect light is enough to move by.
