The Endon Addington 97684 is a single-light semi-flush ceiling fitting with a clear ribbed glass shade and steel metalwork finished in antique brass. A short rigid stem separates the shade from the ceiling plate. Its rounded glass narrows towards the bottom, leaving the bulb visible as part of the design rather than concealing it behind an opaque diffuser.

Allow for the complete ceiling projection

The fitting measures 20 cm in diameter and projects 35 cm from the ceiling. Those measurements describe different things: 35 cm is the overall drop, not the shade width or an adjustable cable length. Compare that drop with your ceiling height and allow clearance for doors or other moving objects beneath the installation position.

Addington can be used as ceiling lighting in a living room, bedroom or dining room, as well as a hallway or entrance area. Its 20 cm diameter is useful when selecting an alternative to a wider shade. The small footprint does not establish how much of a room one bulb will illuminate.

Choose the E27 bulb separately

No light source is included. Endon specifies one E27 LED bulb with a maximum power of 10 W and recommends a filament lamp. Because the glass is transparent, the bulb's outline remains visible. Colour temperature and light output therefore depend on the separately purchased bulb; the fitting itself does not provide a fixed 806-lumen output.

Dimming requires a dimmable bulb and a compatible dimmer. An E27 cap confirms the socket connection, not compatibility with every lighting control. Check the selected bulb's dimming information before pairing it with your switchgear.

Antique detailing and installation requirements

The antique brass finish and shaped ribbed glass support classic and vintage interiors. The metalwork is plated steel, not a stated solid-brass construction. The instructions specify domestic ceiling use, exclude bathroom installation and require earthing for this Class I fitting. Supplied screws and wall plugs are for masonry; other surfaces require suitable fixings. Isolate the electrical supply before cleaning or changing the bulb, and let the bulb cool before handling it. The manufacturer specifies a dry cloth only and advises against liquid or abrasive cleaners.
