Mantra DESIGUAL 7616 wall light, black with white glass globe, 1×E27

Mantra DESIGUAL 7616 places a white glass globe inside an open black frame. Its iron structure outlines straight edges around the rounded shade, making the contrast between the two shapes part of the design. This is the larger, single-module wall light in the DESIGUAL collection designed by José Ignacio Ballester.

An open frame around the globe

The frame has no solid side panels, so the glass remains visible from the front, sides and below. Rather than enclosing the whole shade, the black edges give it a defined outline. This combination supports modern and minimalist interiors where a wall light is intended to read as a geometric detail. It is not a fabric-shaded lamp or a directional spotlight.

Choose the bulb separately

There is one E27 lampholder, and a bulb is not included. The assembly instructions specify an LED bulb rated at no more than 20 W. That figure is the permitted bulb power, not a promise of the assembled light's consumption or brightness. Check the lumen output and colour temperature of the bulb you select to decide how it will contribute to the room's lighting.

The illuminated appearance in the photograph does not establish a fixed light colour. The instructions also show a 70 mm opening in the glass shade, so compare the bulb's dimensions with access to the holder before purchasing it. Mantra lists the fixture as non-dimmable; choosing a dimmable bulb alone does not establish that the complete installation supports dimming.

Allow for the projection from the wall

Mantra lists a height and width of 20 cm and a depth of 21.5 cm. The projection matters near doors, furniture and circulation routes: compare it with the space available before fixing the mounting position. Wall mounting leaves the floor and tabletop free, but the fixture still occupies space in front of the wall.

Use it as supplementary wall lighting in a living room, bedroom, entrance hall or corridor. It has no adjustable reading arm or directional reflector, so it should not be treated as a substitute for a movable reading light. The visible glass sphere and black frame remain its defining features.
