Maytoni Aros MOD507CL-L12CK is a brown LED ceiling light with a broad, rounded aluminium body. Its flattened curved shell surrounds a circular illuminated surface underneath. A small canopy sits above the body, giving this 40 cm design a close-to-ceiling arrangement rather than the long drop of a pendant.
Check both the footprint and the projection
The overall height is 16.5 cm, so the fitting still projects visibly into the room even though it has no suspension cable. Allow for its full 40 cm diameter when comparing it with the position of walls, tall cupboards and other ceiling features. This makes it an option where a long pendant is unwanted but a three-dimensional fitting is preferred to a flat panel.
The manufacturer's drawing shows a canopy measuring 12 cm in diameter and 3 cm high. This is a surface-mounted ceiling fitting, not a recessed light requiring the body to be hidden above the ceiling. There is no pendant drop to adjust. Its stated net weight is 1.5 kg.
Warm white light at a fixed output
The integrated LED source is rated at 12 W and 3000 K. There is no separate screw-base bulb to choose for this design. Maytoni specifies a light output of 689 lm and a 180° beam angle. Use that output, rather than the diameter of the shell, when deciding how much additional lighting the room needs.
Aros can serve as ceiling lighting in a hallway or form part of a bedroom, living room or dining room lighting scheme. Reading and worktop tasks call for their own task lighting. This version is not dimmable, an important consideration if the existing lighting circuit has a dimmer.
A rounded brown accent
The smooth body and uninterrupted outline suit modern and minimalist interiors without ornamental arms or exposed bulbs. Against a pale ceiling, the brown finish defines the curved shape while the light remains visible underneath. The fitting is rated IP20 and should not be selected as an outdoor garden light.
