Maytoni Hoop C086CM-GX53-MRD-BG surface-mounted ceiling light, black and gold, GX53 Autumn Selection -30%

Maytoni Hoop C086CM-GX53-MRD-BG is a surface-mounted ceiling light with a black cylindrical body and a gold-coloured ring around its lower opening. Its construction combines aluminium and plastic. The uninterrupted sides keep the outline simple, while the contrasting ring defines the edge visible from below.

A compact cylinder, not a flat panel

The fitting measures 8.5 cm in diameter and 9.6 cm in height. Compare both measurements with the intended ceiling connection before choosing its position. Hoop projects below the ceiling as a short cylinder; it is neither a flat light panel nor a pendant suspended on a cable. Against a pale ceiling, the black body creates a distinct outline, with the gold-coloured trim marking the lower edge.

Its clean geometry, without spreading arms or a decorative drop, suits modern and minimalist interiors. When combining several fittings from the Hoop family, check their complete article codes: a shared series name does not guarantee matching finishes.

Choosing a GX53 light source

This version has one GX53 socket and accepts a light source rated at no more than 12 W. That figure is a source-power limit, not a brightness rating. Check the chosen lamp's luminous flux and colour temperature separately rather than treating the black-and-gold finish as an indication of the light it will produce.

Maytoni lists the fitting as non-dimmable. A replaceable light source should therefore not be taken as evidence that the complete fitting can be used with a dimmer. It is designed for AC 220–240 V supply, with attachment and electrical connection shown in the instructions for this exact article.

Planning its role in a room

The compact ceiling fitting can form part of a lighting layout for a hallway, living room, bedroom, kitchen, dining room or hotel interior. Select the number and spacing of fittings according to the room and chosen light sources, rather than assuming that one small cylinder will illuminate the entire space. Its circular lower opening and continuous body keep the ceiling composition contained, without a decorative suspension over furniture.
