NORLYS Asker 1313AL LED bollard light, light grey, 85 cm, 2700K IP65

Asker 1313AL is an 85 cm garden bollard in light grey (RAL 9006), shaped like an inverted L: a slim post ending at the top in a horizontal arm, from beneath which the light falls downwards. The body is powder-coated cast aluminium and the diffuser is clear, textured, UV-stabilised polycarbonate.

Size and installation

The fitting measures 85 × 20 × 11 cm and weighs 4.01 kg. The 20 cm arm puts the light source out beyond the post, so the bollard is set at the edge of a path or driveway with the arm facing over the surface it is meant to light.

The base is bolted down through four ø8 mm holes spaced 18 × 50 mm. The producer sells the fixing parts separately: concrete-in anchor 1907, ground anchor 1908, concrete foundation adapter 1909 and mounting adapters 3081 and 3090 – one of them has to be ordered together with the bollard.

The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.4 mm², and up to 3 × 4 mm² when looped through, so several bollards in a row can run off one supply line. The cable gland takes round cable of 4–8, 8–12 or 10–13.6 mm diameter. The fitting is protection class I, so it must be connected to a protective earth conductor.

What light it gives

The light comes from a built-in LED module: the fitting draws 7.2 W and emits 543 lm directed only downwards. That amount of light marks out a path and the area around the bollard rather than lighting the whole garden. A ULOR of 0.6% and a BUG rating of B0-U1-G0 mean that less than one per cent of the light goes above the level of the fitting.

2700 K is a warm, slightly yellowish light close to a traditional incandescent bulb, and CRI 80 gives ordinary colour rendering. The producer specifies phase dimming on the trailing edge (TE) only, so a dimmer of that type is needed to adjust the brightness.

Where it fits

IP65 means the fitting is dust-tight and protected against water jets, and IK10 means resistance to heavy impacts – relevant beside a driveway and in places many people pass. The producer intends the Asker series for gardens, private grounds and architectural use: along paths, terraces and driveways, in parks and by the street. The plain, geometric form without ornament is modern design.
