NORLYS Asker Big Pro 1307GR outdoor up/down wall light, graphite RAL 7016, LED 13.3 W 2700 K

Asker Big Pro 1307GR is a block-shaped outdoor wall light that shines up and down at the same time. The cast-aluminium body is powder-coated graphite (RAL 7016), a dark grey a shade lighter than black. The top and bottom faces are closed by a clear, textured diffuser of UV-stabilised polycarbonate.

Size and installation

The fitting is 30.2 cm wide and 12.5 cm high and projects about 12 cm from the wall. It is fixed either through an intermediate plate with two 5 × 10 mm slotted holes 45 mm apart, or directly through two ø5 mm holes 68 mm apart. The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm² and let you feed the next light (loop-through up to 3 × 1.5 mm²), and the gland takes a cable 7–10.5 mm in diameter. According to the data sheet up to 60 of these fittings can share one B10 circuit breaker and up to 96 a B16 — figures that matter for a long row along a façade.

It is a protection class I fitting and needs the earth conductor connected; IP65 and IK08 impact resistance allow mounting on a wall with no roof over it. The maker also approves it for emergency installations supplied with 180–280 V DC.

What light it gives

Inside are two LED modules with a driver, 13.3 W in total. 1144 lm of warm 2700 K light (Ra 80) leaves the fitting, split into two beams: one lights the wall above the fitting, the other the wall below. It is light for picking out a façade, a pillar or an entrance, not for lighting a driveway.

It dims with a trailing-edge (TE) phase dimmer. The LED modules are not user-replaceable, but the whole fitting does not have to go either: a professional service replaces the module and the driver, which Norlys stocks as spare parts. The maker rates the module at L80 over 102,000 h and the driver at 50,000 h.
