Norlys London Big 4130BL LED garden lantern, two-arm, black RAL 9005, 26.8 W, 3000 K, pole 191–279 cm

London Big 4130BL is a complete garden lantern in the classic English style: a telescopic pole, a terminal with two arms and two lantern heads with LED lighting. The whole assembly is powder-coated cast aluminium in black, RAL 9005.

Height, span and installation

The pole adjusts in height from 191 to 279 cm, and the arms with their heads span 91 cm. The same lantern can therefore suit a small garden by the house as well as a wider avenue or park path — the height is set during installation. The set consists of the luminaire (art. 4122), terminal (art. 3040) and pole (art. 3010); other accessories, including foundation parts, are ordered separately.

The base is fixed with three bolts through ø10.5 mm holes set 120° apart on a ø240 mm circle. The lantern weighs 12.91 kg. The terminals take conductors up to 4 × 2.5 mm² and allow the next lantern to be looped through, with a cable diameter of 7 to 12.5 mm.

The light it gives

Two Philips Fortimo LED modules draw 26.8 W in total and deliver 3548 lm at 3000 K, a warm white, with CRI 70. Ledil VSM lenses distribute the light to IESNA type V, evenly all round the pole, and a ULOR of 0% means no light goes up into the sky — the BUG rating B1-U1-G0 confirms the low impact on the surroundings. That amount of light is enough to light a forecourt, a driveway or a section of park around the lantern.

The luminaire is not dimmable and works in on/off mode. According to the manufacturer, one B16A circuit breaker can supply up to 50 of these lanterns, and a B10A up to 31.

Durability and servicing

IP54/65 ingress protection and IK07 impact resistance allow the lantern to stand in a garden, a park, by a hotel or restaurant, or on a terrace. Protection class II means double insulation, with no earth conductor. The LED modules are rated for more than 100,000 h (L90B10) and the driver for 50,000 h; both the light source and the driver are replaced by a professional service.
