Nowodvorski POLARIS 9056 chrome pendant light

Nowodvorski POLARIS 9056 is a single pendant light with a spherical metallised-glass shade. Its chrome surface reflects the surroundings, while the black suspension and ceiling canopy contrast with the mirrored globe. The shade has an opening underneath rather than an opal diffuser concealing the bulb.

Planning around a 25 cm globe

The shade measures 25 cm across and 22.5 cm high; the complete fitting has a maximum height of 150 cm. Compare that overall drop with the distance between your ceiling and the tabletop or floor before deciding where to install it. These dimensions refer to one shade: this version has one suspension and one light point, not a cluster of globes.

The compact spherical form can provide a decorative pendant above a table, kitchen island or a defined area of the living room. For a longer surface, consider the spacing of several separately purchased fittings rather than assuming that one light point will illuminate the entire area. In a bedroom, hotel or restaurant, the position should likewise take account of the hanging height and clearance beneath the lamp.

A replaceable E27 LED bulb

There is one E27 socket for an LED bulb rated up to 25 W. The bulb is not supplied. This wattage is the permitted bulb limit, not the consumption of an integrated LED module or a statement of brightness. Light output and colour temperature depend on the bulb you choose. The visible filament in the lit photograph is therefore an illustration, not an included component.

Materials and installation

Metallised glass is combined with painted steel. The plain globe, slender suspension and absence of branching arms suit modern and minimalist interiors; the mirrored chrome can also relate to other reflective details. The fitting mounts to the ceiling with a mounting bridge. It is a Class I luminaire and requires a protective-earth connection in accordance with the instructions. The manufacturer lists the suspension, shade and instructions as the package contents, and notes that up to five small air bubbles in the glass can be a natural result of forming it.
