Quintiesse Hadrian flush ceiling light, 1 light, opal glass, chrome

The Quintiesse Hadrian is a compact flush ceiling light made from steel with a polished chrome finish and etched opal glass. Its white shade has cylindrical sides and a rounded underside, framed by metal rings and upright supports. Those details remain visible when the light is off: this is a surface-mounted decorative fitting, not a recessed spotlight.

Check the depth as well as the diameter

The fitting measures 196 mm across and projects 185 mm below the ceiling. A small diameter therefore does not mean a flat ceiling profile. There is no adjustable suspension or height adjustment. Its compact footprint suits ceiling lighting in an entrance hall, corridor or dressing room. In a kitchen, bedroom, living room or dining room, match its lighting role to the size of the space and the bulb you choose rather than assuming one fitting will illuminate the whole room.

One E27 bulb, purchased separately

Hadrian has one E27 socket and does not include a bulb. The manufacturer allows a maximum 60 W bulb or an LED equivalent. Opal glass conceals the direct view of the light source, while the selected bulb determines colour temperature and brightness. The 60 W figure is the fitting's lamp limit, not a fixed electricity consumption or a statement of light output.

The fitting is compatible with dimmable lamps. For adjustable brightness, select a dimmable bulb and a dimmer suitable for it. An E27 socket alone does not make every bulb dimmable, so check that combination before installation.

Bathroom use with a retro outline

The manufacturer specifies interior and bathroom use with an IP44 rating. Installation must still follow the electrical requirements for the chosen bathroom position; the rating does not permit unrestricted placement beside a bath or shower. This Class I fitting requires a protective earth connection.

Stepped chrome rings and white opal glass give Hadrian a retro and modern-classic character. This particular version has chrome metalwork and opal, not clear, glass. Choose it when those finishes are the intended match for the room, rather than treating the other Hadrian colours or glass options as interchangeable.
