Rendl ESICA SQ R12198 is a compact surface-mounted LED ceiling light with a square opal-glass shade and a chrome-finished base. Its white body has rounded corners and projects below a narrow, reflective rim. It offers a geometric option for bathroom lighting without a hanging cable or an elaborate frame.
A small footprint with a three-dimensional shade
The fitting measures 10 × 10 cm and stands 12 cm below the ceiling. Check that height against the available space before ordering: this is a projecting glass cube rather than a flat panel. Its restrained outline suits modern and minimalist interiors, while the chrome detail can be coordinated with other polished fittings.
No separate bulb to choose
This version includes an integrated 6 W LED source and a transformer. You do not need to select a separate screw-base bulb for it. The 3000 K colour temperature gives warm-white light, and the manufacturer states a luminous flux of 435 lm. Opal glass screens the direct view of the module and forms the illuminated surface of the shade.
Plan the number of fittings around the brightness required in the intended area. The stated output is a basis for assessing a particular lighting zone, not a promise that one fitting will illuminate a bathroom of any size. Lighting for the face at a mirror should also be considered separately.
Bathroom positioning and installation
Rendl recommends ESICA SQ for interiors with increased humidity. Its IP44 rating includes protection against splashing water, but does not allow unrestricted positioning beside a bath or shower. The installation position must comply with the applicable bathroom electrical zones and local regulations.
The light operates on 230 V. The manual requires installation by a qualified installer with the power disconnected. Handle the glass shade carefully, as it is fragile.
