Arendal 1565GA is a 49 cm bollard light with a square steel body in a hot-dip galvanised finish — a matt, silvery-grey zinc coating. On top sits a 14.6 cm tall cuboid shade of thick crystal glass, satin-finished on the inside.
Light source and character of light
The bollard has an E27 holder for an A55–A60 shaped LED bulb of up to 9 W. No bulb is included — you choose the colour temperature and brightness yourself and change the bulb yourself. The inside-satinised glass diffuses the light, so the shade glows as a block rather than a point.
The manufacturer describes the light as open: 75% of the flux goes upward and sideways (ULOR 75%). Arendal therefore marks a path, the edge of a terrace or a driveway as a glowing accent rather than lighting the ground beneath it. Crystal glass may take on an amber tint over time — the manufacturer notes this on the product card.
Mounting and connection
The bollard is bolted down with three screws through ø9 mm holes set at 120° on a ø65 mm circle. No anchors are included: anchor 205 is cast into concrete, ground anchor 206 goes into soil, adapter 206S fits an existing concrete foundation, and Norlys also offers mounting adapter 3086 — all sold separately. The bollard weighs 9.11 kg.
The terminals take conductors up to 2 × 2.5 mm², and the supply can be looped on to the next bollard at the same cross-section. The gland accepts round cable up to 12.5 mm in diameter. The fitting is protection class II, so no earth conductor is needed.
Build
Hot-dip galvanising protects the steel from corrosion without paint — the surface dulls over time but does not flake. The manufacturer states IP55/65 ingress protection and IK06 impact resistance. The same family includes version 1560 at 85 cm and 1569 at 35 cm, as well as black and graphite finishes.
