The Arendal 1565GR is a square bollard light 49 cm tall: a 12 × 12 cm steel body powder-coated in graphite (RAL 7016), topped by a 14.6 cm block of crystal glass. The glass is satin-finished on the inside, so the whole block glows evenly while its outer faces stay smooth and clear.
Where to place it and how to fix it
At 49 cm the bollard marks the edge of a path, driveway or terrace and stays low enough not to block the view from a window or across the garden. It weighs 9.11 kg, a heavy and stable body for its height. Norlys intends it for gardens, terraces and driveways, along a street, and around hotels and restaurants.
The base has three ø9 mm holes set at 120° on a 65 mm circle – the bollard bolts to a concrete base or to one of the accessories sold separately: concrete-in anchor 205, ground anchor 206GA, concrete-foundation adapter 206GA0S10 or mounting adapter 3086GA. The terminals take conductors up to 2 × 2.5 mm² and let the supply loop on to the next bollard; the cable entry accepts round cable up to 12.5 mm in diameter.
What light it gives
Inside is an E27 socket for an A55–A60 bulb, LED up to 9 W, which the user changes themselves. No bulb is included. An LED bulb of about 800 lm gives as much light as an old 60 W bulb, and 2700 K is warm, slightly yellow light.
The ULOR is 75%, meaning most of the light leaves above the level of the glass. The bollard therefore works as a glowing marker that traces the line of a path, rather than a light that illuminates the ground beneath it.
Build and durability
IP65 means dust-tight and protected against water jets from any direction, and IK06 protects the glass against light knocks. Protection class II stands for double insulation, with no earth conductor. Norlys notes that crystal glass may take on an amber tint over time; a damaged glass is replaced without changing the whole bollard – it is available as service kit 915600229.
