Mantra EOS 1881 white ceiling light 90 cm 6×E27

Mantra EOS 1881 is a white ceiling light with an acrylic cover and an irregular, rounded outline reminiscent of a cloud. Designed by José Ignacio Ballester, it combines a broad shade with mounting close to the ceiling. This version uses six E27 lampholders rather than an integrated LED module.

A long shade without a cable drop

The fitting measures 90 × 47.5 cm and has an overall height of 21 cm. Mark out both footprint dimensions at the intended ceiling position before choosing it. Its elongated cover occupies a different area from a circular ceiling light of comparable width, particularly where other ceiling features are nearby.

Height is not adjustable, so the distance below the ceiling follows the fitting's construction rather than a suspension cable. Consider EOS for general lighting in a living room, bedroom, dining room or children's room where a ceiling-mounted light is preferred to a pendant. The white surface and organic curves suit contemporary interiors. Its decorative character comes from the outline itself, without crystal drops or exposed arms.

Choose six bulbs separately

Bulbs are not supplied. The installation instructions specify six E27 LED bulbs, each rated at no more than 20 W. Each bulb must be no larger than 50 mm in diameter and 120 mm in height. Check the bulb envelope as well as the cap type so that it fits beneath the cover.

Colour temperature and light output depend on the bulbs selected. Using six bulbs of the same light colour avoids a mixture of colour tones within the shade. The combined 120 W limit is not a brightness specification. Mantra lists the fitting as non-dimmable.

Ceiling fixing and electrical connection

EOS 1881 is rated IP44 and is a Class I fitting requiring a protective earth connection. The manual recommends a round three-core cable to maintain the protection rating. Its mounting drawing shows a base screwed to the ceiling. The fixing must suit the actual substrate; the official documentation does not establish universal compatibility with stretch ceilings.
