The Norlys Asker 5209BL is an inverted-L bollard: a slim cast-aluminium column, powder-coated black (RAL 9005), topped by a short canopy from which the light falls downwards. The lens on the underside is clear, textured, UV-stabilised polycarbonate.
Size and installation
The bollard stands 55 cm tall with an 11 cm wide column, and the canopy reaches out 20 cm — the clearance to leave over the edge of a path or border. It is bolted down through four ø8 mm holes on an 18 × 50 mm pattern. The concrete anchor (1907), ground anchor (1908) and mounting adapters are sold separately, so choose the fixing method before ordering.
The terminals take cables up to 5 × 2.5 mm² and allow loop-through wiring, so a row of bollards along a path can run from one circuit. Norlys states how many fittings one breaker can carry: 46 on a B10A and 74 on a B16A. It is a class I luminaire and needs a protective earth conductor.
What light it gives
The light source is an integrated LED module with the driver included. 4000 K is neutral white, and the complete luminaire delivers 581 lm while drawing 7.1 W. All light is directed downwards (ULOR 0%), so it lights the ground rather than windows or the night sky.
Control is via DALI2: dimming and scenes need a DALI controller, and an ordinary phase dimmer will not work. The fitting is also suitable for emergency installations on 180–280 V DC. The LED module and driver are replaced by a professional service, and Norlys keeps a service kit for this model.
Where it fits
IP65 sealing and IK10 impact resistance let it stand in a garden, beside a terrace, along a driveway or a front path, including spots where a mower or a car wheel may touch it. The plain geometric form without ornament suits modern, minimalist architecture.
