Norlys Molde DC1899AL LED bollard light 24 V light grey 80 cm

Molde DC1899AL is an 80 cm garden bollard in cast aluminium, powder-coated light grey (RAL 9006). The rectangular body curves over at the top towards the ground, and a clear, textured UV-stabilised polycarbonate lens sits under that hood. It runs on 24 V DC and needs a separate power supply.

Size and installation

The body is 80 cm tall and 11 cm wide, and the curved head makes it 16.5 cm deep, a figure to compare with the path edging. The bollard is bolted down through four ø7 mm holes on an 18 × 50 mm pattern. Norlys sells the concrete anchor (1907), the ground anchor (1908) and the mounting adapters separately, so the fixing method has to be chosen together with the light.

The terminals take conductors up to 4 × 4 mm², and fittings can be looped through with conductors up to 2 × 4 mm², so several bollards along one path can run off a single supply line. The cable gland accepts round cable from 5 to 12 mm in diameter.

24 V supply and light output

Molde DC1899AL does not connect straight to the 230 V mains. It needs an external voltage-stabilised 24 V DC power supply, which is not included, and Norlys leaves the choice of supply and the installation to a qualified electrician. The safety extra-low voltage puts it in protection class III. The LED module is suitable for dimming, which is done at the power supply as the installation design specifies.

Two integrated LED modules draw 7.2 W in total and give 435 lm at 2700 K, a warm, slightly yellowish light. That is orientation lighting: it marks the edge of a path and steps but will not light the whole garden. The hood shields the source from above, so less than 3% of the output goes skywards (ULOR 2.89%) and the light falls on the ground beside the bollard. The modules are replaced by a professional service, and Norlys rates them at an L80 lifetime of more than 102,000 hours.

Where it fits

IP54 allows the bollard to stand outdoors without cover, and IK07 means the housing withstands an impact of 2 J. It is intended for the garden, beside the terrace and along the driveway or the street in front of the house. The plain form without ornament and the single light grey colour fit a Scandinavian style.
