MONO CORNER 2x150 is a surface-mounted spot bar built from two arms joined at a right angle. It runs along the corner of a room and carries eight cylindrical spot heads of 5.5 cm diameter, four on each arm. The body is white lacquered steel and the mouth of every cylinder is ringed in gold.
How much ceiling it needs
Each arm measures 150 to 165 cm depending on how far the end spots are swivelled. The bar screwed to the ceiling is itself 150 cm long and 4 cm wide, so a clear run of ceiling that length is needed on both sides of the corner.
The fitting projects 8-13 cm below the ceiling according to how the heads are set. That is the figure to compare with your room height and with whatever will stand beneath the bar: the cylinders rotate and need clearance around them.
Which lamps it takes
Each of the eight points has a GU10 socket, and no lamps are supplied - you buy them separately and choose the colour temperature and brightness yourself. The manufacturer states a maximum of 10 W per point and permits LED lamps only: a closed metal cylinder cannot shed the heat of a halogen burner.
The recommended format is a GU10 R50 reflector, meaning a 50 mm envelope. Wider ES111 reflectors will not enter a 5.5 cm cylinder, so the format is worth checking before buying eight lamps at once.
Eight points in two switched groups
The light points are split into two groups of four. Switching them independently requires two separately switched live conductors at the fitting and a two-gang switch. Wiring to a single phase also works - all eight points then come on together.
Mounting and what is in the box
The bar fixes to the ceiling on brackets, and the set of brackets, an Allen key and the mounting instructions are included. The fitting weighs 3.76 kg and is protection class I, so an earth conductor must be present in the ceiling box - the connection is an electrician's job. The manufacturer intends it for indoor use only.
