Trilogy 3 Light Flush Ceiling Light - Polished Chrome Elstead

Trilogy is a bathroom flush ceiling light by Quoizel, distributed in Europe by Elstead Lighting. A wide, rounded shade of clear glass sits between a chrome ceiling plate and a lower ring, and inside it a central bracket carries three lampholders set out like spokes. The metal has a polished chrome finish.

Size and where to install it

The fitting measures 40.6 cm across and 18.5 cm in height — the room it takes below the ceiling, worth comparing with the height of your bathroom or bedroom. It weighs 3.45 kg and is Class I, so the ceiling box needs a protective earth conductor.

The IP44 rating means the fitting is protected against water splashed from any direction. The manufacturer specifies it for indoor use, bathrooms included — it is not an outdoor light. Beyond the bathroom it suits a bedroom or a dining room.

Bulbs

There are three E27 lampholders, each rated for a bulb of up to 40 W. Bulbs are not included. Because the shade is clear, the bulbs show through the glass and define how the light looks: the manufacturer designed it for Edison-style LED filament bulbs with a visible filament. Such bulbs draw only a few watts, far below the 40 W limit per lampholder.

The fitting is compatible with dimmable bulbs — dimming needs a dimmer switch and bulbs marked as dimmable.

Trilogy pairs a vintage form — bare filament bulbs behind clear glass — with the cool mirror shine of polished chrome, which sits well with bathroom taps and fittings in the same finish.
