Jupiter VILAR 1987 is a steel ceiling chandelier with six spherical heads carried on slender, angled arms. Its black ceiling plate and arms are punctuated by gold-coloured details at the heads and their openings. Rather than one large shade, it creates an open arrangement of six separate lighting points.
Allow space for the spread of the arms
The fitting is 56 cm high, and the manufacturer specifies a width range of 79–94 cm. Compare the available space with the upper end of that range when planning its position. The arms occupy space to either side of the ceiling plate, not just directly below it. Account for nearby tall furniture and the opening path of cupboard doors.
Above a dining table or kitchen island, check the distance from the ceiling to the surface against the full height of the chandelier. In a living room, bedroom or study, the remaining clearance below the fitting also matters, particularly if it will hang over a route through the room. This is a substantial three-dimensional chandelier rather than a flat, close-to-ceiling light.
Choose six bulbs separately
Each head has a GU10 socket. The light sources are replaceable and are not supplied, so you need six suitable bulbs to equip the entire fitting. The manufacturer states 14 W per lighting point. Choose bulbs that match both the sockets and that power limit.
The light colour and brightness depend on the bulbs you install; the gold-coloured finish does not specify a colour temperature. Matching bulb specifications will help give all six points a consistent appearance. This is not a fitting with a factory-integrated LED module and a predetermined light output.
Black and gold within a modern interior
The rounded heads and clearly defined arms suit modern dining rooms, living rooms and kitchens. Subject to checking its dimensions against the installation space, VILAR can also serve as a decorative ceiling light in a hotel or restaurant setting. The gold-coloured elements remain accents against the black structure rather than forming an entirely gold fitting.
