Quintiesse Pim QN-PIM5-FXG chandelier, gold, 5 × G9

Quintiesse Pim QN-PIM5-FXG is a five-light chandelier built around a steel ring in the Fox Gold finish. Its flattened, rounded shades are made from satin-etched cased opal glass. White glass alternates with exposed gold-coloured metal, leaving the circular structure visible even when the lights are off.

Allow for the suspension, not just the body

The chandelier measures 711 mm across, while the light-bearing body is only 139 mm high. That smaller figure is not its installed height. The complete drop from the ceiling ranges from 268 to 1032 mm, so compare the intended position of the shades with your ceiling height as well as checking the diameter against the space above a table or seating area.

Height is set during installation using the supplied rigid rods: two 152 mm sections and two 305 mm sections. The manufacturer also permits installation on a sloping ceiling. This is a rod-suspended fitting, rather than a pull-down pendant intended for everyday height changes.

Five replaceable G9 lamps are included

The supplied dimmable LED lamps each use 3 W and provide 300 lm at a warm-white colour temperature of 3000 K. That lumen figure describes an individual lamp, not a measured output for the complete chandelier. Opal glass encloses the light sources and transmits their light through the rounded shades. There is no fixed integrated LED module: replacements should be compatible G9 lamps. Dimming requires lamps and a control that work together.

Mid-century geometry, including a bathroom option

The open ring and softly rounded glass suit retro and modernist interiors, including dining rooms, living rooms and bedrooms. IP44 protection and the manufacturer's stated bathroom suitability also make Pim an option for that room. The actual mounting position must still comply with bathroom-zone and electrical-installation requirements; IP44 does not permit unrestricted placement beside water. This Class I fitting requires a protective earth connection.
