Rendl VENICE 23 is a ceiling light built around two concentric glass shades: clear glass outside and opal glass inside. A chrome base sits against the ceiling, completing its cylindrical shape. The visible gap between the shades distinguishes it from a fitting with a single white glass cover.

A double shade without a hanging cable

The R13684 variant measures 23 cm across and 18.3 cm high. Compare these dimensions with your ceiling height, nearby fittings and the opening path of doors before choosing its position. This is a surface-mounted ceiling fitting, rather than a pendant with an adjustable suspension.

The opal inner shade conceals the bulb, while the transparent outer cylinder keeps the outline of that inner shade visible. Circular geometry and chrome detailing suit modern, modernist and minimalist interiors. In a bathroom, the base can be visually coordinated with chrome taps without introducing a different metal colour.

Choose the bulb for the light you need

The fitting has one E27 socket for an LED bulb rated at no more than 11 W. This is the bulb power limit, not a measurement of the fitting's brightness. Light output and colour temperature depend on the bulb selected. Check its physical dimensions as well as its cap and wattage so that it fits inside the glass shade.

Rendl specifies dimming with a suitable light source. If brightness control is required, choose a dimmable bulb and a compatible dimmer; an E27 cap alone does not establish dimming compatibility. The light connects to a 230 V supply and does not need an additional transformer.

Bathroom placement and installation

Its IP44 rating and the manufacturer's stated use support bathroom installation. They do not permit unrestricted placement next to a bath or shower: a qualified installer must select the position in accordance with the applicable bathroom zones.

VENICE 23 can also provide ceiling lighting in a hallway, entrance area, bedroom, kitchen or living room, as well as hotel and restaurant interiors. Assess whether the chosen bulb provides enough light for the intended space rather than judging brightness from shade diameter. The instructions require qualified installation with the power disconnected and careful handling of the fragile glass shade.
