Lucide RUBEN ceiling light, 4xE27, black metal, 90 cm, 00124/04/30

Lucide RUBEN 00124/04/30 is a long ceiling light with an open rectangular frame in black metal. Four matt gold / brass-coloured lampholders sit in a single row, leaving the bulbs visible from below and from the sides. The exposed sources and straight-edged outline bring together vintage detailing and an industrial form.

A long frame, without a pendant drop

The complete fitting is 90 cm long, 20 cm wide and 22.5 cm high. It mounts at the ceiling rather than hanging from a cable, and its height is not adjustable. Before choosing its position, compare the length with the ceiling layout and check the space available beneath it. The rectangular mounting plate measures 40.5 × 10 cm and is 2.5 cm high.

This format can provide general lighting in a living room, bedroom, hallway, kitchen or study. Above a dining table or kitchen island, it offers a linear arrangement without a low-hanging pendant. The lampholders do not swivel, so this is not a spotlight for aiming at individual objects. Lucide describes the light direction as diffuse and all around.

Choose four E27 bulbs separately

The fitting takes four E27 bulbs, each rated at no more than 40 W. Bulbs are not included. Suitable LED bulbs may be used; their lumen output and colour temperature determine the brightness and colour of the light. Because there is no enclosing shade around them, the shape of the bulb envelope also becomes part of the visible design.

Dimming requires dimmable bulbs and a compatible dimmer, purchased separately. Simply fitting ordinary non-dimmable LED bulbs does not provide brightness control. The bulbs shown in the photographs should not be treated as included components.

Finish and installation

The matt, spray-painted black metal contrasts with the gold-coloured holders. Straight lines also make it compatible with restrained modern interiors. RUBEN is intended for indoor use and a mains connection. Its Class I construction requires an earth connection. The manufacturer specifies installation by a qualified electrician and isolation of the power supply before maintenance or bulb replacement.
