Mantra COMFORT GU10 C0162 square recessed light, matt white

Mantra COMFORT GU10 C0162 is a square recessed fitting made from aluminium with a matt white finish. Its recessed centre contains a circular holder for one replaceable GU10 lamp. The square border and set-back light source give it a different ceiling profile from a flat, round downlight.

Plan for a square ceiling opening

The outer frame measures 9.2 × 9.2 cm, while the fitting body is 4 cm high. Mantra specifies an 80 × 80 mm mounting opening. This is not a diameter measurement: both the shape and the two side lengths matter when preparing a new opening or replacing an existing ceiling fitting.

The assembly drawing shows side springs securing the fitting. The 4 cm body height does not describe the complete space needed for the bulb, lampholder and wiring. Before installation, check the available room above the ceiling and whether its construction accommodates this fixing method.

Choose the bulb to suit the lighting plan

No bulb is supplied. The instructions allow one GU10 LED lamp rated at a maximum of 12 W. This limit is not a fixed power consumption or a promise of a particular brightness. Actual consumption, light output and colour temperature depend on the separately purchased lamp. Its beam angle should also be considered alongside the area you intend to illuminate.

Mantra indicates 30° adjustment and lists the fitting as non-dimmable. Being able to change the direction helps position an individual light point relative to a chosen zone. It does not determine the lamp's beam width or replace a considered arrangement of fittings across the room.

A geometric detail without a hanging shade

The plain matt frame suits modern and minimalist interiors. In a living room, bedroom, kitchen or hallway, C0162 can form part of a ceiling lighting layout without introducing a suspended shade. The same approach can be used in studies, hotels or shops. Choose the number of fittings and bulb specifications for the actual zones involved rather than assuming one spotlight will illuminate an entire room evenly.
