Gold Sigma Sfera 90 – a ceiling light on an architectural scale

The Sfera SL/32475 takes the form of an expansive gold dome with a sweeping angled opening. Its outer surface appears even and satin-like, whereas the inside displays a dense, irregular texture. A single colour therefore produces two distinct readings: calm across the exterior and much more reflective underneath. Once lit, highlights move over the textured inner face, drawing attention to both the asymmetric rim and the depth of the shade.

Plan deliberately for a 90 cm diameter

The fitting is 90 cm wide and deep, with an overall height of 50 cm; the shade itself is 42 cm high. This is not a discreet flush light to place at an incidental ceiling point, but a large component of the room’s composition. It can define the area above a broad table, the centre of a living space, a generous entrance hall or an open commercial interior. Before purchase, check vertical clearance and distance from tall furniture as carefully as the diameter, and consider the viewpoint from which the gold interior should be most visible.

A single E27 socket inside the large dome

Despite its considerable size, the Sfera uses one replaceable light source. The E27 socket accepts an LED lamp rated at no more than 15 W; the lamp is not included. Its colour temperature and distribution should be selected for the intended zone and the reflective gold surface. The body is painted steel, and the shade is mineral composite.
